Political Bias
Political bias is liking one political group or idea more than others.
It is okay to prefer some politicians or policies. But it is not okay to like a political group or idea so much that we stop listening to other groups or ideas.
Sometimes we seek out news and other information that makes us believe that we are right. Unfortunately it is easy to ignore any news or facts that don’t agree with our thinking. This is a bias and it is not a good thing. It stops us making decisions based on all the information that is available. Even worse, political bias might make us look at information that is deliberately wrong or misleading.
It's okay that everyone can have their own ideas and beliefs. But it's good to explore different ideas and listen to a wide range of view points.
Politics
Politics is sharing each others ideas about the way we want our country to be managed.
Politics is not easy. Lot of different people have lots of different ideas about lots of different things. People tend to think that their ideas are right. In fact, there is so much stuff to think about that it is impossible for anyone to be right about everything.
In politics it is okay for people to disagree with each other about what is the best thing to do. It is not okay to be unkind towards people who have different views to us.
Politics is messy. It is okay to disagree with someone but it is not okay to get angry and be unkind to them.
