Everyone Is Better Than Me
Feeling that 'everyone is better than me' is the worrying thought that you are not as good as others.
It is very common to feel like everyone around you is so much better at almost everything. It is a really uncomfortable thought that makes you feel very anxious and insecure.
When we compare ourselves to other people we tend to get it wrong. We compare how we feel on the inside to how others appear on the outside. These are not the same things. Other people may be feeling just like you.
You can help yourself by remembering that everyone gets nervous and worried sometimes. Other people usually can not see how anxious you are just like you can't alway know when others are feeling anxious.
Feeling that 'everyone is better than me' is a very normal feeling. Remembering that this is unlikely to be true can help.
I am useless
I feel useless is how I feel when I think other people are better than me.
I can feel useless when other people:
find things easier than me
appear more confident
have lots of friends
always seem to get things right
I can help myself if I:
try not to compare myself to others
think about the things I am good at
remember that everyone gets nervous and worried sometimes
understand that others are not as confident as they may look
remember that getting things wrong is normal for everyone
remind myself that other people can not see how anxious I am inside
talk about my feelings to someone I trust
It is OK if I feel useless sometimes. But, I can try hard to make myself feel better. It is also OK to tell someone how I feel.
