Helping all children become happy learners
Being Selfish
Am I Being Selfish
I am being selfish when I want to keep everything for myself.
I am being selfish when:
I only think about myself and not others
I will not share things with others
I try to get what I want by being bad towards others
I do not wait for my turn
I take more than I need and leave others without
If I act in a selfish way other people may think that I am not a nice caring person. They might get angry or upset with me. If I am selfish other people may not like me or want to be my friend.
It is not OK to be selfish. It can upset other people and they may not like me.
Being Selfish
Being selfish is keeping everything for yourself or acting in a greedy way.
Being selfish is a number of things like:
only thinking about yourself and not others
not being willing to share
trying to get what you want even it means acting badly towards other
not waiting your turn
taking more than you need and leaving others with less than they need
Being selfish is not a nice thing to be. It can make other people think that you are not a nice caring person. Other people may not want to be your friend.
Being selfish is not OK. It is unfriendly and can upset other people.
Not sharing
Not sharing is when I try to keep everything for myself.
Not sharing includes not letting others:
use my things
join in with my games
speak or give their ideas
have their turn
Not sharing is not a nice thing to do. It can make other children upset or even angry with me. And they might not want to be my friend. Adults might also be cross with me for not sharing.
I can try to remember to share more by asking my friends if they:
want to use my things
would like to play with me
can tell me their ideas
would like to take their turn first
Not sharing is not okay and it is unfriendly. I can try really hard to be good at sharing.
