Introduction
Use these communication cards for children with little verbal communication or poor social communication, particularly when feeling anxious, frustrated or angry. Modelling using them with the child so they become happy and confident in daily use including when they are being more verbally responsive. These cards can help reduce aggressive behaviours and meltdowns caused by the child being unable to communicate their needs.
Print out sheets, cut out and laminate cards. Cards can be hole punched and put on a key ring. Alternatively, use velcro tape and stick on a choice board.
