Barrier Games

Introduction

Barrier games involve two players who take turns to give instructions to the other on how to copy what is on their sheet of paper. The barrier can be physical or virtual. Players often just sit so that the person listening cannot see the speaker's paper. These games encourage development of both expressive and receptive language skills. They can also be particularly important in helping to develop understanding of prepositional concepts but can also be extended to challenge the most able of individuals.
