Uh Oh! Cards
More Information
For supporting children who find changes to routine difficult to manage. This resource uses the phrases Uh Oh! and Something has changed to signal a change in routine or other usual or planned activity. These can be shown to the child before telling them about a change in their routine. These should be introduced and discussed with the child before using. Building familiarity with the same phrase can be a powerful way of reducing anxiety. With use the child increasingly understands that a 'uh oh' moment is 'not the end of the world' and that they will be OK. Alternatives for slightly older children include this resource with the Whoops! phrase and for older children, adolescents and adults there is the Sorry! Something has changed resource.
