Hitting is trying to hurt someone using your hands and arms.
Hitting someone on purpose is not OK. It is a very unkind thing to do and can cause painful injuries. Because hitting people is wrong it can be against the law.
Hitting someone can make them feel upset or angry. Adults may also be very angry with children who hit other children.
When someone has been unkind to us it can make us feel very angry and upset. This is OK. We can feel like we want to hit them. That is not OK.
Hitting people is never OK to do and it can get you into trouble.
If I Hit
Hitting is when I use my hands and arms to hurt someone.
If I hit someone on purpose it is a very unkind thing to do. I may hurt them badly and that is not OK. I may make them upset and that is not OK.
If I hit someone I can make adults angry with me. It can make the children around me not want to be near me or be my friends.
If I feel I am getting angry with someone I can try to:
walk away
tell an adult
do a calming activity
It is never OK to hurt others. I can try not to hit anyone.

Hitting is when we our use hands and arms to hurt someone.
Hitting someone can hurt them and that is not OK. For this reason hitting is always against school rules.
Sometimes we might get angry or annoyed with someone at school. This is OK. Trying to hit or hurt them is never OK.
When we feel angry with someone we can try to manage our feelings and follow school rules. We can try:
walking away
telling an adult
doing a calming activity
finding a friend to talk to
writing down what made us angry
It is never OK to hit someone in school. When we get angry with someone we can try to stay calm and follow school rules.
If I Hit At School
Hitting is when I try to hurt someone.
Hurting or trying to hurt someone is never OK. It is against the school rules. If I hit someone at school I will get into trouble.
Sometimes I can get very angry at school. It is never OK to hit someone because I am angry. If I hit or try to hit someone I will be breaking school rules. Adults may be very cross with me and I may get consequences I don't like. If I feel angry I can try:
